No Better Time

John 7:33-34 – Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

While Jesus visited the temple, the religious authorities opined about Jesus’ credentials.  Formal training in a rabbinical school was customary to Jewish culture, and the Jews were clueless as to how such a man could teach such marvelous truth (7:16-17). Jesus clarified the matter.  God directly commissioned Jesus to teach truth (12:49), and Jesus evidenced truth by his works (12:50).  The only way to know God and his will is to know the Scriptures, as did Jesus (John 6:45). Jesus is the will of God for mankind, and anyone can know him if they put their full, unreserved confidence in him (6:29).  If you do not understand Jesus, it is because without faith it is impossible to please God and to do his will (Hebrews 11:6).  Simply put, without faith you do not know Jesus or the Father (John 14:6).  You do not know God’s will, and you risk failing to make the greatest discovery in your life.  Jesus warned that there would come a time when people would long for the Savior but not be able to find him.

The time for spiritual opportunity is now.  The time will come when it is too late.

There was a time when unbelieving people could speak to Jesus face to face, but then he returned to heaven where they could not go (7:34-35, 8:21).  Today, people can hear Jesus’ words through the Scriptures and from believers, but many have hardened their hearts (2 Corinthians 6:2).  The crowd was confused, but Jesus was clear.  Call upon him while you can.  He is the way to God and heaven, the absolute truth of the universe, and the embodiment of eternal life (John 14:6).

Have you put your unreserved confidence in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins?

There is no other way.

There is no other truth.

There is no other hope.

There is no better time.

Ask Jesus, the holy Son of God, to forgive you of your sins by believing with all of your heart that he alone can and will rescue you from the deathly penalty of sin.  He took the penalty of your sin as he was died upon the cross.  He showed his power over sin and death when he rose again.  He will forgive you when you ask him in faith.

Will you ask Jesus to forgive you today?  I beg you in the stead of Christ, call upon him so he can rescue you from your sin!
